About 18 km south-west of Madinah; the furthest miqat from Mecca.
Where to enter ihram.
A miqat is the boundary at which a pilgrim enters the state of ihram before performing Umrah. Five classical miqats are defined, each tied to a direction of approach to Mecca. Pilgrims arriving by air enter ihram on the flight, before crossing the miqat's air-equivalent line — typically about 30 minutes before landing at JED or MED.
