Energy is the highest-stakes AI deployment in the region. Aramco, ADNOC, KOC are running AI for reservoir characterisation, predictive maintenance on rigs, and drone-based pipeline inspection. The grid side: AI for renewables forecasting (solar/wind output) + grid balancing is rapidly maturing as MENA's renewable capacity grows. The strategic shift coming: AI for carbon accounting + sustainability reporting will be required for any GCC company exporting to EU markets under CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism).
